Source Code Licenses
The majority of Haiku®'s own code is provided under the MIT license. However, numerous third-party code is included in the codebase. Many of the licenses are collected inside a few folders:
- /boot/system/data/licenses
- /boot/common/data/licenses
- /boot/home/config/data/licenses
The licenses in /boot/system/data are viewable online in Haiku's SVN Repository.
However the licenses inside common/data and home/config/data are not contained within the repository and are often installed as pre-built Optional Packages that are extracted onto the compiled image. Due to this, the licenses listed within the repository cannot be considered a complete list.
Graphic Licenses
The HVIF icons included in Haiku's source repository are provided under the MIT license and are free to re-use or modify in any way. There are several graphical trademarks, which are subject to the trademark policy.
